Things those are required to change the transmission fluid are

•    Fluid
•    Filter
•    Torque Wrench
•    Large pan to catch the fluid

If you want to change the transmission fluid then you must follow certain instructions

Place your car on the incline – place the front side of the car on the incline and also block the back wheels of the car. You can even use old clothes as your work is likely to get messy and you must place some old newspaper underneath where you will be working so that no oil gets on your driveway. You even need a place where you can store the vehicle parts and also unload the oil. It would be a good idea for you to empty the tank.

Recover the Transmission Pan – discover the transmission pan with the help of the manual and put the oil pan under.  You must take out the bolts slowly and keep your face away from it. If the seal is broken on the bolts then the fluid will start to drip. Keep the bolts aside and let the oil drain completely into the pan. You must wash the sediments and other deposits by using a fluid and not by water. Look over at the debris of the pan. By doing so it will help you to determine whether your car transmission is working properly or not. It might be difficult for you to do as you are not skilled at this. Once you see that there is no debris then you have properly cleaned it. If your car is new and you have found some debris then it is not a problem and you can trace some aluminium shavings.

Check the Gasket – you can also check the gasket to see whether it requires replacement to replace or not. If it gets damaged then you can replace it. You must apply a thin layer of RTV sealant to the pan’s flange to ensure that it is nicely tightened and also have a leak proof seal.

Remove the Filter – if the filter is completely drained then replace the filter. Be cautious as the filter might have fluid in it and replace the old filter with the new one. You must tighten the specifications by reading the manual. Take the bolts from the pan and tighten them for the first couple threads by hand before using a tool. Add the fresh oil in it and use a funnel so that it does not spill. If you have completed to change the oil then start the car. You can run it for few minute and also shift the gears for few times to check whether everything is under control. You can now look at the dipstick, pull out the dipstick to wipe it on a clean rag, reinsert it, and pull it out again. Now you can hold the level and check to see where the oil is sitting on the stick. It should be sitting on the right line, basically saying full. If everything goes well then you can take out your car from the incline.
