If you have a vehicle then its maintenance is very much important. While driving your car is likely to collect dirt, debris and even bugs in its engine air filter and it becomes very hard for a person to know how often they should change the engine air filter. One thing that every car owner should remember is that the change of engine air filter is primarily depended upon the driving condition of the vehicle.
Actually climate and the condition of the road also play an important role in determining the life span of the air filter. If you are from a dry and dusty climate or spend a lot of time in driving on unpaved roads then you need to change the engine air filter more often. If you drive on the paved roads and live in the wetter place then you require replacing it once in a year. You can also use a visual inspection to determine whether you require replacing your engine air filter or not.
However sometimes this theory does not work and sometimes a filter actually begins to work better with some dust as it helps trap particles of a particular size. There are also some people who depend upon the “restriction meter” which measure the flow of air and also help them to know when their filter needs replacement. If you do not have such meter then you have to depend upon the visual inspection. If you do not like to depend upon the visual inspection then you can depend upon the set of guidelines because every people tend to have different interpretation regarding replacing the car air filter.
For everyone it would be the best thing that they should change the air filters every year and they do not have to depend on interpretation or on visual inspection.
